For our clients, their families and friends, we offer a new service at Wattle Brae Stud: Overnight stays at Daisy’s Cottage
Daisy’s Cottage is named after Wattle Brae matriarch Daisy Fairy Turkington. It is the original stud groom’s cottage at Wattle Brae, and so is situated at the Stud’s heart, the main stables.
Daisy’s Cottage is now available for Bed and Breakfast accommodation. It has three bedrooms, a separate shower-room and bathroom, full kitchen facilities, a laundry, and a car-port. It sleeps four, with one double room and two single rooms. All linen, towels, cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils are supplied along with a breakfast produce basket for self-catering. The nearby historic Rudd’s Pub at Nobby is recommended for lunch or dinner, or barbeque on your own verandah at Daisy’s.
The tariff is $145-$185 per night, with discounts applying for consecutive night stays after the first. Bookings are essential and can be made through our office with Kellie or Maree on 07 46 964 555, or by email at admin@wattlebrae.com.au.
Unfortunately no pets are allowed due to the considerable value of our livestock.
It must also be understood that horses and especially thoroughbreds can be dangerous and unpredictable animals, as such a stay at Wattle Brae Stud is at your own risk. While children are welcome, those under fourteen must be supervised by an adult at all times while visiting Wattle Brae, and an awareness and respect must be shown for our staff, farm machinery, silos and water troughs.
Wattle Brae is a fully operational commercial thoroughbred stud, making it a unique farm stay. |
