Magic Millions mission for Little Critter
NOVEMBER 14, 2011: The chances of Court Command being represented by at least one notable runner in January’s $2 Million BMW Magic Millions 2YO Classic grew over the weekend when leading southern states trainer Tony McEvoy announced his plans for Little Critter.
Little Critter became Court Command’s first-ever winner when scoring at Morphettville in Adelaide late last month and is a member of McEvoy’s prominent 2-year-old team that also includes MRC Debutante Stakes (LR) winner Jimando and MRC Merson Cooper Stakes (LR) winner Maximus Moonard.
Following the victory of Maximus Moonard in Saturday’s juvenile stakes event staged on the Sandown card in Melbourne, McEvoy confirmed that both Maximus Moonard and Little Critter are ultimately Gold Coast bound.
“This horse [Maximus Moonard] will go to the Gold Coast. Little Critter will run at Wyong in December in the Magic Millions lead up,” claimed McEvoy, adding that another stable representative in the form of Typhoon Lily would probably be joining them.
Little Critter has so far raced on two occasions, finishing a very promising runner-up on debut before running out a near two-length winner at his only other outing. The youngster’s current earnings of $27,100 would have seen him sixteenth in the order of entry of last year’s renewal of the BMW Magic Millions 2YO Classic won by Karuta Queen.
