New stakes winner for Easy Rocking
January 1, 2010: Wattle Brae Stud stallion Easy Rocking has developed into one of the most consistent winner getters in Queensland and the son of Barathea notched his sixth individual stakes winner when Baqaba scored a thrilling win in today’s Listed Goldmarket at the Gold Coast.
Easy Rocking’s progeny have a reputation for being outstanding wet trackers and the Steve Tregea owned, trained and bred gelding enhanced that status when comfortably getting through the mud today.
Baqaba, now the winner of five races from nine starts, is from the dual stakes placed Rory’s Jester mare Bouree, who had just the one go on a wet track for a four length win at Moonee Valley.
Bouree is the dam of five winners from as many to race, but Baqaba, who was bred at Tregea’s Windermere Stud on the Darling Downs, is her first stakes winner.
He joins Pepperwood, On The Fridge, Funtantes, Elliotto and Boudi Woudi as stakes winners for Easy Rocking, who had his career highlight when winning the G1 Salinger Stakes.
Easy Rocking is from the Twig Moss (Fr) mare Twiglet, making him a half-brother to Hong Kong Champion Fairy King Prawn (Danehill).
