New Group winner for Easy Rocking
The Western Australia-trained Elliotto (5g, Easy Rocking*-Tanamur, by Danehill*) became the latest stakes winner for Easy Rocking when winning the Group 3 WATC R.J. Peters Stakes over 1500 metres at Ascot.
The winner of eight races in and around Perth before his latest assignment, Elliotto became engaged in a stirring battle over the concluding stages of the prestigious contest and fought determinedly to score by a short half-head.
The winner’s cheque of over $80,000 took Elliotto’s earnings to over $400,000 from just 22 career starts. In addition to his nine victories, the 5-year-old has also placed second or third on another eight occasions, including his narrow defeat in the Group 3 WATC Asian Beau Stakes when finishing runner-up.
Elliotto, a $30,000 yearling sale purchase in 2006, is bred a Sadler’s Wells-Danehill cross. Used in reverse, this nick was responsible for the multiple Group 1 winning race filly Peeping Fawn, one of the world’s very best performers sired by Danehill towards the end of his illustrious career.
